Tattered
Jim Boring
The old book is dog-eared and dog gnawed
Some puppy along the long line of pups
With a taste for literature has taken a corner
As I have myself; just a pleasant corner
Of the great matter of it all; a taste, no more.
Her tears are just a salty taste as well;
Spray from the oceanic suffering
And this is how one eats the elephant
Devours the cataclysm: one taste
One tear at a time.
